Christopher Cross and Justin Hayward (The Voice of The Moody Blues)

American Music Theatre – Sat, Jun 24, 2023 7:30 PM

Known principally as the vocalist, lead guitarist, and composer for The Moody Blues, Justin Hayward’s voice has been heard the world over.  Over the last 45 years the band has sold 55 million albums and received numerous awards.  Having started the ball rolling as a songwriter in his own right with a couple of solo singles, Hayward joined The Moody Blues in the summer of 1966.  Hitting his stride immediately with the single “Fly Me High,” he followed it up with the classic hit songs “Nights in White Satin” and “Tuesday Afternoon.”
Singer, songwriter, and guitarist Christopher Cross burst onto the music scene with his 1980 self-titled debut album which included the multi-Grammy winning song “Sailing.”  In a career spanning more than four decades, his music has garnered five Grammys, an Oscar, a Golden Globe, an Emmy nomination, and five Top 10 singles.  Cross joined music royalty Burt Bacharach to write “Arthur’s Theme,” for the movie Arthur, which won an Academy Award for Best Song, and was again in the Top 10 with the singles “All Right” and “Think of Laura.”

Appearing as Special Guest will be Mike Dawes, hailed as one of the world’s finest modern acoustic guitar players.  He was voted “Best Acoustic Guitarist in the World” by Total Guitar Magazine & MusicRadar twice consecutively, in both the 2017 and 2018 readers’ polls with three additional second place rankings.  He has recorded with multiple Grammy award-winning and Rock ‘n Roll Hall of Fame inducted artists, and tours as lead guitar player for Justin Hayward
